Our 11-Hour NY SAFE Comprehensive classroom course is designed to meet both New York State and national continuing education requirements.

The class will meet Monday, October 3 and Wednesday, October 5 from 9am to 2:30 pm. The fee of $225 includes textbooks and the NMLS filing fee. To register, click on "Application;" print the application form; and mail it with your deposit of $100 to the address on the form. (Note that no deposit is required for PCC alumni.) Please include your NMLS registration number on the application.

SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator ONLINE Pre-licensing, Exam Prep and Continuing Education
The Professional Career Center has partnered with the Association of Mortgage Educators (NMLS Provider ID:1400214) to offer online SAFE MLO Pre-licensing, NMLS Approved Continuing Education, and SAFE MLO Exam Preparation.


SAFE MLO Pre-licensing On-Line
The NMLS-approved instructor-led Pre-licensing course provides all of the tools to help you successfully complete your online MLO Pre-licensing education. The course is flexible and convenient, allowing you to move easily through the lessons, activities, and practice exams. You'll also have easy access to your instructor and other students through discussion forums and other activities.

The Pre-licensing course has a specific start and end dates-and your instructor will help make sure you keep on track to complete your course. Keep in mind that there are no "scheduled" activities so you can participate when it's convenient for you.

SAFE MLO Exam Prep On-Line
The Exam Prep online course is designed to prepare you with the knowledge you need to pass the National Loan Originator Test, which is mandated by the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act).  It includes clear, succinct discussions on the topics from the national MLO Test outline—federal mortgage lending-related law, mortgage industry terms and concepts, the loan origination process, and ethics—and unlimited opportunities to self-assess your understanding through tests at the end of each module.

When you’re ready, you can take a comprehensive 100-question practice test that resembles the content breakdown and types of questions you will see on the national MLO Test. You can take as many practice tests as you want. Since the questions are randomized from large pool of questions, each test will be unique—you will never see the same exact questions in the same exact order. NMLS Approved SAFE MLO Continuing Education Online
These courses are approved by the NMLS to fulfill the SAFE Act continuing education requirements.  The online courses are flexible, convenient and easy to take with no hidden fees.  Unlike other providers, your $1.50 per credit hour banking fee is included in the cost of the course!

Mortgage loan originators have to take 8 hours of continuing education by December 31 of each year. On a yearly basis, the SAFE Act calls for state-licensed MLOs to complete 3 hours of Federal law and code; 2 hours of ethics including training on fraud, fair lending, and consumer protection issues; 2 hours of training dealing with lending standards for the nontraditional mortgage product market; and 1 hour of instruction in an undefined topic (which may be state-specific depending on your state).
