Bank of America’s appraisal subsidiary, LandSafe, has agreed to pay $36 million to settle a class-action suit alleging that it misclassified 365 current and former residential appraisers as exempt from overtime when they should have been eligible.

The lawsuit had been filed in April 2013 in federal court in Orange County, California.

The agreement came close on the heels of BofA’s announcement that it was selling LandSafe to CoreLogic. BofA had acquired LandSafe when it bought Countrywide Financial Corp. in 2008.
